I thought I would research one of the ideas which we came up with in our seminar class today, this idea is the 1950's Housewife idea for the character 'Roberta' - A bored suburban housewife, seeking adventure to her life. I found some photographs from a vogue magazine shoot in this same style which I think fit in perfectly with the character Roberta. If you look closely at the images you instantly get a feeling as though the housewife wants to be anything but a housewife, and is dreaming of wanting to live a different, better sort of life. This is shown by the models face expressions and also the use of props. Take the photo of the model stabbing the cake for example, this is supposed to be a birthday cake yet the only text shown in the cake is 'happy', the model is then stabbing the cake which therefore shows that she isn't happy.
