If you know what to look for you can find almost anything in the personal ads...including the love of your life! Rosanna Arquette is irresistable, and in her first staring role, pop star Madonna gives a marvellously comic performance in the delightful mad-cap comedy about mistaken identity.
Brand new jersey housewide Roberta (Arquette) fills her days by reading the personal ads and following an ongoing romance between "Jim" (Robert Joy) and "Susan" (Madonna) a mysterious drifter who appears to lead the kind of free-spirited life about which Roberta can only dream. And dream she does, until the day she actually shows up at the couples pre-arranged rendezvous in New York City...and after a bump on the head, a bout of amnesia turns Roberta into Susan and opens the door to intrigue, laughter and love.
Here I have included the text from the back of the DVD case about the film, I have highlighted certain words which I believe would show the film well in our photoshoot. Im not sure if you have all managed to watch the film yet, however I particularly like the idea of showing mistaken identity within our shoot as this is what the film is about, maybe having two models dressed in a similar way?
Another idea which I think could work would be having a newspaper as a prop or maybe as the backdrop, to show the personal ad 'Desperately Seeking Susan' as this is another key aspect of the film. Let me know what you think.
