Whilst researching 1950's housewifes, straight away the music video for 'Queen - I Want to Break Free' came to mind. Putting aside the fact that the housewifes are men dresed as women, this video is very housewife stereotypical. The title of the song 'I want to break free', means wanting to break free from whatever is restraining you, to make yourself free from the forces that stop/prevent you from being what you want to be. In our films case, this song relates to 'Roberta', and wanting to break free from being a bored housewife to her husband 'Gary'.
Maybe this song could be used as backing music to our PowerPoint?
You may also get some inspiration for the shoot by watching this video, the old fashioned wallpaper is something which we could take from this video, as a backdrop for one of our final images.
